Relining and Rehabilitation Couplers
The jointing of special custom size PE pipes can be challenging in Hong Kong where there is no space for butt fusion equipment in the trench. Designers considering special size pipes for rehabilitation are encouraged to select a custom PE pipe size that is near to their optimum size but also in the size range of special size electrofusion couplers to facilitate joining.
Non-standard pipe sizes are often expanded at the ends and held at the correct electrofusion coupler size using an internal stainless steel ring, as seen in the image below. Mill-Pro offers a wide range of specialty PE electrofusion couplers designed to accommodate non-standard PE pipe sizes. Relining Slideover Coupler / REM / PN10 / SDR17
Stepped couplers are designed for connecting custom size relining PE pipes to standard OD PE pipes. Custom size PE pipes are manufactured to special outside diameters in order to fit inside existing DI or steel host pipes. Featuring all the same technical benefits that UB couplers have. Friatec can custom manufacture relining couplers to accommodate most small steps found between custom relining pipe sizes and standard PE OD’s.
