Chun Wo were awarded the contract to install twin DN 350 (400 OD) PE 100 RC pipelines for transporting pressure sewer along the NG Tung River for approximately 6km.

Over 11km of Mill-Pro M90 ES SDR 21 PE100 RC pipe was installed for this DSD project.  AECOM burial design used imported graded backfill with a geo-textile barrier to prevent fines being washed away.  The pipes burial design is highly conservative and a PN8 maximum operating pressure means the PE portions of this pipeline will exceed 100 years of service. 

This PE pipeline replaced 12km of existing Ductile Iron Sewer rising main that was at the end of its operational life.  This PE line is expected to last 4x longer than the DI pipe it is replacing, as the corrosive elements found in sewerage gas have no effect on Polyethylene.
